The village of Trimiklini is built in the largest valley of Cyprus and is located 27 km from Limassol, between Limassol and Troodos Mountain. Since many years ago it was a necessary stopover for rest. Continuous high mountaintops surround the village with the highest mountain being mount Zalaka, with the exception of a large ravine, on the South side of the community, which is watered by the crystal clear water of Kouris River. The village is constructed in a way, which makes it impossible to be viewed as a whole from one spot. The villagers are occupied by tree and vineyard cultivation. The largest production in percentage is that of peaches, nectarines, pears and plums. Wine and zivania are also well known, traditionally made products of the village. There are two acceptations from where the name of Trimiklini village is originated, according to tradition. The first acceptation claims that the name comes from the greek words "thermo klini", which in ancient times was supposed to be a very stable climate during both summer and winter so that lots of patients were visiting the village for healing. This is the reason why in Greek grammar the name of village is spelled with all"yiota letters" except for the last "etta letter". The other acceptation by tradition claims that the name comes from the word "thermo krini" and was connected to a fountain, which had water running warm in the winter and cold in the summer. An ancient bridge is found in Trimiklini, which is built by theshores of ourisriver during the Venetians era. It is built of stones by the river and consisted of three consequent arches. Right here at this point was the joining of the district of Pafos to Kalo Chorio,Lefkara village and Nicosia.During theChristian era Saint Helen, with Stavrovouni as the starting point, crossed the bridge and carried the Holy Cross and the holy rope atthe ancient monastery of the Cross at Kouka village and Omodhos village. Another sightseeing of Trimiklini is the only double bridge in Cyprus, which was partly built in 1901, when it was used as a carriage passage and completed in 1917 with the appearance of the first motor engined vehicles. At this point was the joining of Limassol, Trimiklini and Troodos. The first road, which was constructed by the English troops in the district of Limassoland was begun from Limassol to Ipsonas, Alassa, Lania, Silikou, Trimiklini, Kouka, Pera-Pedi, Platees and Troodos, where the holiday residence of the first governor of Cyprus was built, is another important spot of the area. A large part of the road is reserved stone built and efforts are made by the involved communities to bereconstructed. In Trimiklini, during 1955-60, a dam has been constructed at the Shore of Kouris River, which is the largest river in Cyprus that waters a large area of the community (appr. 14.400 feet). It is the only dam of Cyprus that is always full, forming a huge lake of exceptional natural beauty, and where various birds nest during the summer months.
